Policy on Parallel & Grey Imports

C.R.Kennedy & Company Pty Ltd are the sole authorised Australian and New Zealand distributor of Sigma Corporation and has the exclusive rights to sell Sigma products within this territory. Parallel and Grey Imports are described as product imported directly into a country by a company or persons other than the manufacturer’s authorised distributor in that country.

Sigma Australian Warranty on Parallel and Grey Imports

IMPORTANT - Following changes in policy by SIGMA Japan, SIGMA products purchased in USA, Hong Kong and Singapore are not covered by any warranty valid in Australia.

C.R. Kennedy & Co P/L will only undertake warranty repairs on products sourced through us. All products imported directly from overseas and resold are not covered by our warranty. This includes purchases through US based grey exporters such B&H Photo Video.

B&H Photo Video is NOT an authorised Australian SIGMA lens dealer. SIGMA product supplied by B&H Photo Video is NOT eligible for Australian 2 year SIGMA warranty. We have grave concerns that B&H Photo Video is not applying GST correctly to these items.

For Australian based customers in most instances authorised Australian dealers will provide the most competitive prices worldwide. Should this not be the case we will strive to match, through our authorised Sigma dealer network, any legitimate advertised internet price on Sigma lenses by grey importers. We suggest that you research the product thoroughly before making any purchase.

Please Note

1.  CR Kennedy & Company Pty Ltd does not provide any warranty or guarantee for parallel /grey imports. We will not honour any warranty or guarantee supplied by parallel importers.
2.  Products sourced from America and Japan requiring battery chargers, etc, will not meet Australian electrical standards. Plugs will require an adaptor. Adaptors supplied by parallel /grey importers are often not electrically approved.
3. In many instances products supplied for Australia have special modifications for the Australian market. If you purchase parallel grey imported product you risk purchasing product that may not easily work under Australian conditions.
4. CR Kennedy & Company Pty Ltd. operate in a global market place. The lines we represent in Australia are globally competitive in price. The savings by purchasing from parallel/grey importers are in most cases non-existent. The risks are great.
